They are learning, slowly:

(Last Week)

Me: gets up to pee in the middle of the night
Them: OMG WE ARE GOING OUTSIDE AT 2:30 IN THE MORNING WHAT IS THIS LIFE OF LUXURY LET US SPRINT DOWNSTAIRS TO THE BACK DOOR.
Me: Please come back here so we can go back to bed.

(This week)

Me: gets up to pee in the middle of the night
Them: Don’t let the cold air in. Asshole.

(Also this week)

Rukia: It is now precisely 7:30 a.m. and time to get up. I will first lick your foot that is sticking out of the blanket, then sit down and start heavy breathing directly in your face until you move.

Their behavior while I work is pretty unchanged. Rukia flops down on her side and passes out. Kiba sits immediately next to me and either a) stares directly at me, or b) refuses to make eye contact.

If I tell Kiba to lay down, he refuses and walks out of the room. He will only be in the room while I’m working if he can stand/sit and make hard eye contact or look away when I look at him.

Quote of the week

“Your strength as a rationalist is your ability to be more confused by fiction than by reality. If you are equally good at explaining any outcome, you have zero knowledge.”

~Eliezer Yudkowsky
